Dear class, the last session we worked with  abilities and adverbs of manner.

Let's remember:

When we talk about abilities, we use can or can't.

I can play soccer but I can't play basket ball.
She can sing but she can't dance.

The second topic that we reviewed was  adverbs of manner. Don't forget that we use an adjective to describe  nouns and adverbs to describe actions.

She is a beautiful dancer       She dances beautifully
I am a polite person.              I usually speak politely


Now, let's go to the next topic:

Character adjectives

As we said, we use adverbs to describe actions and we use adjectives to describe nouns. To describe people, there are different adjectives like:

intelligent                           serious                       quiet                          loud

generous                             shy                             nervous

polite                                   selfish                       mischiveous

social                                   stubborn                   straighforward

friendly                                sensible                    funny  

talkative                               sensitive                   stupid

Some examples:

I am very intelligent

My sister is very polite

My mom is a sensible person.

Frequency expressions.  

The final topic we will work in this unit frequency expressions.

How often do you study English ?               I  study English        once a week

                                                                                                         twice a month

                                                                                                         three times a month

                                                                                                         every  day / week /month /year
                                                                                                         every four years
                                                                                                         all the time
                                                                                                         never
                                                                                                        once in a while ( de vez en cuando)

As you can see, the collocation of these expressions is at the end of the sentence but in the case of never it goes before the verb:

I never go to the school on Sundays
I do exercise twice a week
My brother cleans his room every year
We go to the cinema once a month
I drink water all the time.
I do homework once in a while
